The Miami Ice Skating Club was established in 1953. Beginning with a roster of about 9, the club has now grown to an impressive number of 53 skaters.
The Miami Ice Skating Club’s goal is to allow students to continue their love for the sport of figure skating, while opening up new and wonderful opportunities along the way. Each season skaters are given the chance to be involved in social events as well as fundraising and community service activities, while developing life-long friendships with individuals who share the same passion.
Additionally, skaters are able to continue building their skating achievements while being a full-time, or part-time college student. There are several qualified coaches at the Goggin Ice Center involved in various aspects of skating: freestyle, ice dance, and synchro to help get you through those last few tests, or even get you started!
The Miami Ice Skating Club holds an hour of club ice every Wednesday night, which is included in dues. Other freestyle sessions are offered daily throughout the week. Our team offers a range of skating opportunities from competitions and testing to the annual Spring Ice Show at the end of April.
Throughout our team’s history, we have achieved great success. Our Intercollegiate Freestyle Team has placed in the top three at every recent competition, qualifying for Nationals throughout the past 5 years. We have a wide variety of students who skate and compete at all levels in both dance and freestyle.
