The Redhawks continued their winning ways in 2010 with 2 more big wins against University of Michigan 5-2 and 3-2 in Overtime. Those 2 wins pushes the Redhawks current winning streak to 7 games. These games were huge for the Redhawks as they were 2 wins against a GMHL rival. Friday night's game was highlighted by good team defense and timely saves from Seth Wolfe. Saturday was a bit more dramatic as the Redhawks came back in the 3rd period after being down 2-1 late in the game, but the Redhawks were able to score with about a minute remaining to take the game into overtime. In overtime both teams had plenty of chances, but with 20 seconds left Devin Zimmer buried a backhander on a breakaway to win the game for the Redhawks. After the game Mr. Falvo thanked Zimmer personally for shooting the puck and not passing.
The Redhawks hit the final stretch of their regular season with a record of 18-7. The Redhawks finish the season at home against Southeast Region and in-state rival, Bowling Green. Game times are: Friday, February 19th @ 9:30pm at Goggin Ice Center and Saturday, February 20th @ 12:30pm again at Goggin Ice Center.
